Najviac nominácií na Oscara tento rok získal film Podoba vody mexického režiséra Guillerma del Toro, získal ich celkom trinásť. Film zabodoval okrem iného v kategórii najlepší film a najlepší režisér. Nominácie dnes v Los Angeles oznámila americká filmová akadémia.

Druhým najúspešnejším filmom čo do počtu nominácií je podľa denníka The Washington Post vojnová dráma Dunkerque, ktorá ich získala osem, a film Tri billboardy kúsok za Ebbingom, ktorý má šancu na slávnu zlatú sošku v siedmich kategóriách.
Šesť nominácií získal film Najtemnejšia hodina.

Ocenenia budú vyhlásené na začiatku marca.
